User-Led Innovation (ULI) is an innovative, proprietary product development process uniquely adopted by 21GRAMS. Our users are at the core of everything we do and we believe skincare products should speak to their specific needs. That is why our Research & Development team draws upon the feedback of our pilot groups to identify product gaps and refine our formulations to ensure our products are tailored to our users' preferences and the environment they are in.

How does it work?
STEP 1: USER PROFILING
We build an online profile for each of our pilot users to understand individual skincare habits, preferences and needs. The profile will be used to identify which ULI process the user should participate in.
STEP 2: ULI INVITATION
Selected pilot users will receive an invitation to participate in the development of a new product that best matches their profiles and wants.
STEP 3: PRODUCT PROTOTYPE
Based on user inputs and our team expertise, we develop the prototype (the very first version of the product!), distribute it to the user and start running the trial.
STEP 4: REFINE FORMULATION
Drawing insights from our user feedback, we look deeper into different aspects and go through rounds of iterations until we are satisfied with the outcome.
STEP 5: PRE-LAUNCH TESTING
Prior to official launch, we submit the final product to third party laboratories to conduct testing on product safety, stability and quality check to ensure it meets industry standards.
